Together we will!

It’s Stadia’s theme this year.  It reflects a core value of collaboration, networking, caring for one another, and encouraging one another.  I was brought up short two weeks ago when a highly valued employee was suddenly encouraged because someone told him that he was vital to the organization and that we really needed him.
Now,  I knew we needed him.  I highly valued him.  But,  I had not expressed it enough to him.  It is so easy to drift into the emotional black hole of not feeling significant.   No one has ever written a grade school essay entitled, “When I grow up, I want to be a small cog in a very large machine.”   We were all designed by God for significance.  Yet, Satan likes to convince us that we are not important.  That what we do won’t be remembered and doesn’t really contribute to the mission of God in this world.

The role of the leader is to always be connecting the dots between what each person is doing and the mission of God in the world.  One has only to read the passages about spiritual gifts to see that God sees value in every person and in every gift given to that person. Long ago I memorized this verse,  1 Thess 5:11,  “Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as you are in fact doing.”

Why not sit down right now and think of one person who needs affirmation in their job.

As a matter of fact,  if you are reading this,  you are important, and since this is a church planting blog (and you’re reading it), what you are doing is the most important job in the world.  Thanks.  We need you.

Together we will,
